Following the Rules

God helped prepare us, for the first seven years of the mission field, by having us volunteer in an orphanage that had over 100 abandoned children. What we found out, is that most of these kids are not orphans, but have biological families. When the children in our home started returning to these biological parents, the Lord quickly showed us that these families needed help! This changed our mission from "Caring for Orphans" to "Family Restoration." For the last year we have been partnering with Isaiah 61 Ministries International by visiting families that have had children returned to them by the Government of Guatemala. We provide nutritional checks, monthly food bags and, most importantly, we remind them of the hope we have in Jesus Christ.

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion - to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.
